On 25 March 2015 project manager Klaus Richter and PR manager Thomas Heinick visited the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) followed by the Representation of the Free State of Thuringia to the European Union in Brussels.

Logo EASPDThe aim of the visits was to introduce the SmartTex network and ask for support in connecting and making contact with other networks, companies and research institutes that work with smart textiles & materials. The intention is to angle the network internationally and to find new European partners for SmartTex network members. The reception was very warm on both visits, the meetings were constructive and support was assured.

At EASP the "smartTex-assist" network project was introduced. The aim is to find international partners to develop smart products and aids for people with disabilities and to prepare these products for market. In the process the first concrete arrangements were made.

The varied and interdisciplinary scope and applications of smart textile products and materials were put forward to the Thuringian representation office. The SmartTex network was given the opportunity to present itself and its objectives, as well as current developments and products, to future international partners at the representation office in Brussels.
