Workshop "Smart Textiles/Smart Wearables" in the Representation of the Free State of Thuringia to the European Union
On May 30, a workshop on the topic "Smart Textiles / Smart Wearables", organized together with the ERRIN platform, took place in the Permanent Representation of the Free State of Thuringia at the European Union in Brussels.
ERRIN is a European research and innovation network established in Brussels in 2001, with more than 120 regional stakeholders from all over Europe. The ERRIN vision is to improve regional competitiveness in the different European regions in order to strengthen the EU's ability to research and innovate.
The workshop was attended by 37 attendees, dealing with smart textiles and wearables, from all over Europe. The SmartTex network was represented by Mr. Richter and Mr. Heinick. Some members of the SmartTex network also traveled to Brussels: Dr. Möhring from TITV, Prof. Geelhaar from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Dr. Daniela Zavec Pavlinić from the Smart Products company based in Weimar.
The goal for the Thuringian participants was to exchange information at European level, to establish new contacts, to offer international cooperation, especially to Thuringia SMEs with European companies, as well as to make the SmartTex network and its destinations more internationally known. The workshop was exciting and constructive. Within the workshop, there were three working groups on "standardization and quality assurance of smart textiles", "innovation marketing" and "how to support the industrial reception and the integration of SMEs".
